Now, crouched in a narrow alleyway, he wondered how long that would last. The city around him had grown up haphazardly, thrown together by successive waves of colonists using whatever materials they had available. Unplanned, unmapped, it was a rat’s warren of used cargo containers, recycled deep-space tug hulls, gutted drive housings, and every size and shape of metal and plastic scrap imaginable. It is also, he reflected, a friggin' deathtrap.

Over-Discharge Protection Circuit Board for Lithium Polymer (LiPO)
Battery Packs by GovCheese
Most airsoft enthusiast have had to make several important decisions in the past several of years as more and more innovative products have made it into the market to make the game more enjoyable and affordable. Tokyo Marui or ACM? MARPAT or Multicam? AEG, Spring or Gas Powered? NiCAD, NiMH or LiPO?
In terms of technological advances, airsoft has lagged behind other hobbies using similar technologies. Radio controlled enthusiasts have known about LiPO batteries for years, but they have only been recently endorsed and utilized by the airsoft community, with somewhat mixed feelings. Many of these feelings are due to misconceptions, but some are based on prior experiences and what people read online or see on youtube. You don’t have to search far to find a video clip of a LiPO battery violently exploding or catching on fire and spewing toxic gas.
One of the great things about playing Airsoft is that you get to recreate your heroes, if only for a short while. Although all you really need to “get your game on” is your AEG and safety gear, whether you are a gamer, a scenario player or a full on MilSim realist part of the fun is putting together your gear for the game!

AirsoftGI.com has really created a winner with these budget aeg's. They have some premium accessories like the 12" railed foregrip, crane stock and flip up sights. The DMR also has a full length 6.03 tightbore. As well internally the G&G mechbox internals with 8mm metal bushings, absolutely perfect shimming and just the right amount of grease.Overall the fit and feel of these replica's are top notch. Fantastic balance under the magazine, smooth and snappy shot to shot performance and just the right amount of metal. At this point I'd say these are one hard to beat budget aeg series.

The tiny plastic spheres burst in through the doorway, spinning
across the concrete floor with a sound like billiard balls on tile. The
blindingly bright light that sprang from the balls flickered wildly
about the room, like a disco gone mad. The surprised defenders took a
startled step back, their attention diverted for a fatal second by the
madly-rolling lights. That second was all the attackers needed.
Following in upon the heels of their distracters, they moved with swift
precision. The air was filled with the chatter of weapon’s fire.
“HIT” yelled the defenders, signaling the victory of the attacking force . . .

Airsoft Rat Trap Claymore
By Longbow
After seeing several videos on the rat
trap claymore I thought I would give it a try.
The size of the
claymore is as close as I could get using the Victor Rat Trap. The
real
Claymore is 8.5”X 2”X 3.5”. The unit I built is 9”X
2”X 4”,

So... What is a MOSFET switch?
A MOSFET switch is a solid state electronic switch that takes the power normally sent through the trigger switch assembly and instead routes that power through a Mosfet (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor).
In this way the trigger switch is only used to send a very low-power signal to the MOSFET switch. The MOSFET switch then turns the current on and off without any arcing or damage to the trigger switch and wear is virtually eliminated and its lifetime is extended indefinitely.

Fist Fire: How We Do What We Do
(Male Perspective)
By Dan Rauscher
Disclaimer: Well, I originally started this review back in January, but got distracted as I was watching the DVD, and ended up only finishing the review just now, about 2 or 3 months later. In that time, Isabel wrote her review (no doubt Rob got tired of waiting for me to write it). So, ADM has already brought you the Female perspective on the DVD. So, now here’s the male perspective. Please excuse the stream of consciousness writing style.Enjoy!

The Detonics Combat Master is a smaller version of the 1911. The slide is shorter and it has a shorter frame. Another difference is the profile of the rear sight. The rear sight is not at the back of the slide, but about an inch and a half forward. Another difference between the Detonics and the 1911 is the lack of a grip safety on the Detonics. Due to the shorter frame, and the fact that the main spring housing is the same length as the 1911s, the space available for a grip safety is reduced. As such, the area where the grip safety should be is simply a part that is mounted flush with the rest of the frame.

Y&P Airsoft SOCOM MK23 NBB Gas Replica Pistol
So you are looking for a special operations style pistol that will perform with the gas blow back big dogs, but on a budget. I think we have found your solution. The y&p mk23 SOCOM NBB - non blow back. This isn't a new pistol by any means. It's in all sense a reduced cost version of the Tokyo Mauri and at 1/3rd the cost it's a budget bargain. We were able to acquire this one from http://evike.com/.
In these hard economic times, or for that matter, any time, I'm always looking for budget items and certain tools we use infrequently that can be expensive and as such budget priced items can save ones wallet.

A Girl and Airsoft by Isabel
As a child I had a very active imagination. I would spend countless hours purposefully going from place to place in my house with a black cape tied around my neck and my mothers cuff like bracelet on my arm. Leaping from the top of the stair case or the running jump on to the bed were considered flying. The kitchen was central command from which all manner of heroics were staged. My fathers prized Texas instruments calculator, something I was not supposed to be playing with, was my ultra sophisticated computer. In my minds eye I was the graceful yet powerful superhero, like Wonder Woman or Isis, tackling each mission with technical and physical suave and prowess. But really I was a bit klutzy and would never be mistaken for a super hero of any kind. But this imagination instilled in me a belief that I could be those things I wasn't, a belief I still have. This is why as a girl I now play airsoft.

Press Release:
Centilla Corporation of Exeter New Hampshire is pleased to announce the signing of an exclusive North American Distribution Agreement with Systema of Japan to sell, service and distribute the complete line of Systema’s Professional Training Weapons (PTW) and accessories.
I've had numerous conversations with folk over whether or not it's
possible to paint black plastic to look like wood so I thought I'd have
a go! In main this is not a new technique, but I've just extended it to
start with a black base rather than just "aging" an existing woodgrain
effect.
I started out with my TSD Pump Shotgun...

After years of, shall we call it, “traveling” to nasty and smelly foreign lands, We've come to appreciate clean odorless gear, especially when it's on your buddy next to you. And we can appreciate the sinking feeling of finding that great set of pouches at the bottom of that bin in the army navy surplus store that wreaks of mildew and rot.
When I first got into airsoft and started working on replica AEGs I noticed that we were using bushings instead of bearings. I asked the local airsoft gunsmith and his response was that 6mm bearings just couldn't take any kind of load or speed without coming apart. At that time there was a very limited number of 7mm boxes available and they were very expensive. Years later and 7mm mechboxes are still rare and sometimes expensive. So I embarked on a quest to find if I could step up my el cheapo ACM mechboxes to 7mm and install bearings. After multiple attempts here is what I found worked for me.

I'm
always on the lookout for small tools that I can put in my portable,
on the field, tool set. Well, this holiday season I think I found one
of the best, for the cheapest price. A micro-multi-tool from Home Depot for only $2. A multi-tool is essentially a pair of pliers with other tools stored in the handles.
Of Note: This article was written after the work on repairing and re-surfacing the stock was done. The photos will show the end results. In the near future I will be doing another article similar with step by step photos showing how to texture and rubberize an aeg grip.

A monocular for searching the shadows?
The idea of using a monocular to spot the opposition force in the shadows gets me a perplexed look from most people. They automatically assume that the reason for the monocular is to only look at things far away.
