I'm
always on the lookout for small tools that I can put in my portable,
on the field, tool set. Well, this holiday season I think I found one
of the best, for the cheapest price. A micro-multi-tool from Home Depot for only $2. A multi-tool is essentially a pair of pliers with other tools stored in the handles.
2.5" x 0.75" x 0.5" (64mm x 19mm x 13mm) closed
This micro-multi-tool has over 9 tools.
- Key ring
- mini ruler
- needle nose pliers with wire cutter
- small knife
- micro saw
- flat head screw driver
- file and awl
- phillips head screw driver
- bottle cap opener + mini flat head screwdriver
- and micro scissors
4 inches long in pliers mode (not including handle tools)
This particular one has those small sets of things you can use for that game ending replica or kit emergency in the field. When combined with a multi hex - allen key set, a collection of zip ties and some extra strong gorilla tape, you are pretty set to do many improvised repairs in the field.
Sadly, I haven't been able to find online any micro-multi-tools of this type or incredible price. But if I do, or if someone does who reads this and sends me a link, I will post it up.
